43 percent of funding locked in for Rec Sports Master Plan

Students will be responsible for no more than 57% of project funding.

Yesterday The Badger Herald published an article about funding for the Rec Sports Master Plan.

The Division has developed a funding model in which a minimum of 43% ($97 million) has been secured for the project (estimated at a total cost of $223 million). The chancellor and the UW Foundation have contributed a generous portion of this 43%, along with UW Athletics, the State, and Rec Sports Program Revenue.

Rec Sports will not ask students to fund more than 57% of the funding. If additional funding and gifts become available, this money will continue to offset students’ contributions.
